An English artist best known for maritime, shipping, coastal and harbour paintings, and as a creator of art deco style posters for travel and railways. His style is described as 'light impressionist' and he was a founder member of the Staithes Art Club whose members are known today as the Staithes group, or the Northern Impressionists.
This is one of a pair produced for the North-East Railway in 1913. They feature 'Alice in Holidayland' with charming characters taken from the 'Alice in Wonderland' story, this shows the Walrus & the Carpenter.
These are already extremely rare, added to which I have taken the liberty to include a picture-in-picture of the other image in the upper corner.
